Forest Walk Adventure [early Demo]
⚠️ please note that this game is still very much unfinished! ⚠️
This is my master thesis project for "Interactive Illustration & Games". While I implemented most of the main puzzles and locations that I envisioned, the game still lacks a lot of polish, dialogues, animations, sound, music, content and story. Please consider this more of a "tech/graphics demo" at this point. :)
Currently this won't be developed further, but I plan to return to it in the future hopefully. 🦄💜 For more information, behind the scenes and insights into my game design process, you can support me on Patreon for as little as 3€ to gain access to the archive of posts & videos about the development this game!
🌿 How to Play
- WASD or arrow keys to move
- click or press E to enter/exit screens or house
- first time loading might take a little while
- select language at the start in the menu, or change it during gameplay via the menu button
- this is a demo still in development. The puzzles mostly aren't fully functional, NPC and narrative animations aren't there yet, but it's possible to walk through every location of the game until the dark swamp.
- there's a "walkthrough mode" if you want to see the locations but not solve the puzzles
🐞 known bugs
- the rainbow mushrooms' colliders sometimes don't work properly and need a little nudging or multiple tries even though the placement is correct
- the gameplay currently ends with getting out of the cave into the swamp, where there normally would be a proper ending!
- saving the game doesn't work
- right mouse click might break the game ...?

Never seems to load for me.🤔 I just see a white bar that goes 8/10'ths the way across the screen.
oh no! the white bar is the correct loading screen, it might take a minute or two for the first time loading but I'm sorry if it doesn't work for you at all.
I've tried two different browsers, yet the same exact thing occurred.

I'm not sure what's going on, but it always is stuck at this point on both:
I hope that helps.
